So, if you’re heading to Bangkok, there are a million and one things to do once there. There’s temples, markets, bars, shopping, etc., etc., that you want to include in your itinerary and must-see’s. But, you would completely miss out on an amazing experience if you did not add a visit to the MOCA to your list.
Situated out towards the Don Mueang Airport, the modern building is just off the beaten path. To be honest, most taxi drivers have never even heard of it. In actuality, most Bangkok residents haven’t. But, don’t let that stop your adventure, because a truly amazing collection is awaiting your visit.
There are five floors, with most of them being full of contemporary Thai art works. The details, colors, and twists on Thai culture are quite astounding and mesmerizing.
There are some truly spectacular pieces by many of the Artists that take traditional Thai culture, stories and elements and fuse them into a modern language that makes for wonderful viewing. I found myself almost hypnotized by some of the astounding details.
Lastly, check out the various Thai surrealistic artists in the various spaces. Their work is fantastic and just as delightful as any Dali I’ve ever seen.
Anyways, these pieces only scratch the surface of what is housed inside this truly magnificent building. To appreciate it and take it all in, I guess you’re going to have to see it for yourself….
